What You Can Do to Help

There are several ways you can assist to promote positive human relations work in Los Angeles County. First, you may become involved in the Human Relations Mutual Assistance Consortium (HRMAC) Cluster that addresses human relations issues in your region. HRMAC is a network of communities that brings advocates together with city staff, law enforcement, school officials and other stakeholders to address intergroup issues. Contact Frankie Maryland (213) 974-7630 for more information.

Next, consider supporting one of the programs or projects of the L.A. County Commission on H.R. For example, youth who are struggling with issues of bias and discrimination in their campuses can use your help. Check out our youth website, Zerohour.com. Or, our Network Against Hate Crime brings together a variety of stakeholders to discuss prevention and education around hate crimes. Contact Marshall Wong at (213) 974-7617 for more information. Our Hate Crime Victim Assistance & Advocacy Initiative brings together agencies who are serving victims of hate crime. Contact Ray Regalado at (213)893-0810. These are just a few of our programs. Please check out our website pages on these programs!

If you would like to receive information on volunteer opportunities, please consult our Job Openings & Internships page.

Finally, if you would like to send a tax-deductible donation to fund the work of the Commission, please send your remittance to the Los Angeles County Human Relations Foundation, 320 W. Temple Street Suite 1184, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Checks can be addressed to Mr. Gene Stevenson.
