The Media Image Coalition (MIC): Services

The Media Image Coalition:

• Organizes educational events on the impact of film and TV media images on human relations

• Advocates for the media industry to exercise social responsibility in providing balanced portrayals of people with different racial, ethnic, religious backgrounds and sexual orientation, and persons with disabilities

• Provides consultation to the media industry to ensure fairness, equity, and cultural sensitivity throughout the production process (script development, casting, promotion)

• Serves as a resource for information and advice for ulturally appropriate casting

• Responds with reliable, informed MIC spokespersons whenever news stories break on sensitive issues affecting specific communities.
